1. “Bocomm Leasing, 자국 Cosco Zhoushan조선소에 울트라막스 신조선 8척 발주”/“Bocomm strikes deal for eight ultramax newbuildings at Cosco Zhoushan”
- Bocomm Leasing사는 자국 Cosco Zhoushan 조선소와 64,000dwt급 울트라막스 벌크선 8척 건조 계약을 맺은 것으로 확인됩니다. 동 선박은 2023년부터 동 선주사로 인도될 예정입니다.
올해 6월 Bocomm Leasing은 자국 Chengxi 조선소와 8척의 우드칩 운반선을 발주하며, 해당 비즈니스에 처음 진입하게 되었습니다. 8척중 6척은 64,000dwt 기어 벌크선박이며, 나머지 두 척은 70,000dwt 기어 벌크선으로
2024년 하반기부터 동 선주사로 하여금 인도될 예정입니다. Bocomm Leasingd은 작년 24,000teu 컨테이너선 6척, 12척의 아프라막스 탱커를 자국 조선소에 발주한 바 있습니다.

- Bank of Communications Financial Leasing (Bocomm Leasing) has ordered eight ultramax bulkers at Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Zhoushan.
Shipbuilding sources said Bocomm Leasing signed up for the 64,000-dwt vessels before China's Golden Week holiday. They are slated for 2023 delivery.
In June, Bocomm Leasing contracted state-owned Chengxi Shipyard to build eight woodchip carriers marking its debut in the segment.
Chengxi was contracted to build six geared 64,000-dwt ships and two gearless 70,000-dwt vessels. It is scheduled to deliver the first in June 2023, with the others to follow by the second half of 2024.
Bocomm Leasing's newbuildings ordered last year where they ordered six 24,000-teu ultra-large containerships and 12 dual-fuel aframax product tankers at shipyards in China.

2. “Cosco Shipping Investment Dalian, LPG 선주사로 해운 시장 진입”/“Cosco Shipping Investment Dalian marks shipowning debut with LPG carrier order”
- Cosco Shipping Investment Dalian은 소형 LPG 운반선 2척을 자국 조선소인 China Merchants Jinling 조선소에 발주하며, 선주사로써 해운시장에 진입하게 되었습니다.
동사는 China COSCO Shipping사의 자회사로 현재 호텔, 케미컬 보관 및 운송 서비스 사업을 영위하고 있습니다. 동사에 따르면, 금번 LPG 신조 발주는 동사의 LPG 운송사업의 시작과 함께 Cosco Shipping의 LPG 운송 사업과의 관계를 강화하기 위해
발주한 것이라고 밝혀졌습니다. 현재 Cosco Shipping의 자회사 Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation의 경우에 1990년에 건조된 3,500 – 4,000cbm 사이의 LPG 운반선 6척을 보유한 것으로 확인되며, 금번 발주가 해당 선박을 교체하기 위한
발주로도 해석되고 있습니다.

- Cosco Shipping Investment (Dalian) has made its shipowning debut with orders for two small LPG carriers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard Dingheng.
The company, a subsidiary of China Cosco Shipping, is currently active in the hotel, chemical storage and logistics service industries.
Cosco Shipping Investment said the gas carriers are important for the start of its LPG business and would also strengthen Cosco Shipping's presence in the LPG trade, according to local media reports.
Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation Co a group company of Cosco Shipping has six LPG carriers of between 3,500 cbm and 4,000 cbm, two of which date from the mid-1990s, according to Clarksons.
According to local source, They may also be replacement vessels for Cosco Shipping.

3. “Xiamen ITG Group VLCC 인수와 함께 탱커해운 시장에 진입”/“Xiamen ITG Group makes its first tanker move”
- 급속하게 성장하고 있는 중국 국영 벌크 전문 운송사인 Xiamen ITG Group이 VLCC 한 척을 인수하며, 탱커시장에 진입하였다고 밝혔습니다.
동사는 현재 벌크 운송 사업에 집중하며, 점진적으로 선대를 확장해오고 있었으며, 현재 총 13척의 벌크 선을 보유하고 있는 것으로 확인됩니다. Xiamen ITG Group은 대만 벌크 전문 운송사인 U-ming과 함께
합작회사를 설립하였으며, ITG U-Ming Shipping사명으로 현재 최신식 캄사르막스 벌크 3척을 운용 중에 있습니다.

- State-owned and Shanghai-listed Xiamen ITG Group has added its first tanker. The fast-growing bulker player has emerged as the taker of a VLCC.
ITG Group is steadily fattening its shipping arm and has so far focused on dry bulk. VesselsValue lists ITG with 13 bulkers in its fleet.
The company also has ties with Taiwanese bulker operator U-Ming who it has a joint venture called ITG U-Ming Shipping, with three modern kamasarmaxes.

4. “Iino Kaiun, 자국 Mitsui사와의 용선 계약에 따라 현대 미포에 암모니아 운반선 발주”/“Iino Kaiun orders ammonia carrier at Hyundai Mipo for Mitsui charter”
- 일본 Iino Kaiun Kaisha는 자국 무역 상사 Mitsui & Co사와의 정기용선 계약에 따라, 23,000cum 암모니아 운반선을 현대 미포 조선에 발주하였다고 밝혔습니다. 동 선박은 2023년 12월에 동 선주사로 인도될 예정입니다.
해당 신조선은 암모니아 운송을 위한 선박 디자인과 암모니아 추진 준비 선박으로 선급 ABS에서 기본 승인한 최초의 암모니아 운반선입니다. 또한 LPG 운송에서 Ammonia운송으로 전환이 가능하도록 차세대 선박으로 설계될 예정입니다.

- Japanese shipping line Iino Kaiun Kaisha has sealed a time charter deal with compatriot trading house Mitsui & Co for a newbuild 23,000 cu m ammonia carrier.
The vessel will be built by the South Korean shipbuilder, Hyundai Mipo Dockyard, and delivered in December 2023. According to a joint statement, the vessel is the world’s first ammonia carrier to be designed and
built based on the basic certification for ammonia-fuel-ready ship by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and will be a next-generation ship that can also transport LPG and switch to LPG as well as ammonia fuel.

Environment Side –
1. “Maersk, Lignin 해양 연료 개발에 투자”/“Maersk to develop green lignin marine fuels”
- Maersk는 Vertoro사의 특허된 액상 lignin 기술을 추가 개발 및 상업화 하기 위해서 투자한다고 밝혔습니다. 이를 통해 Vertoro사는 lignin 데모공장을 2022년 가동을 목표로 건설할 예정입니다.
해당 공장에서 생산되는 결과물들은 Maersk사와 협력하여 해양 연료로 사용될 수 있도록 개발될 예정이며, 케미컬 및 산업재 시장에 접목하기 위해서도 함께 사용될 예정입니다.
Maersk는 해운산업에서의 탈 탄소화를 위해 사용할 수 있는 미래 연료로 biodiesel, alcohols, ammonia, and lignin-enhanced alcohols을 언급하며, 이를 상업적으로 활용하기 위하여 다각도로 투자 및 개발활동을 하고 있습니다.
Vetoro사는 2017년에 설립된 신생회사로 특허 받은 열화학 공정을 통해 지속적으로 조달 가능한 임업 및 농업 잔류물에서 독점적으로 액상 lignin을 생산할 수 있는 업체입니다.
현재 액상 lignin을 이용하여 화석연료와 마찬가지로 연료, 화학, 산업재에 응용할 수 있는 플랫폼으로 사용할 수 있는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.

- Maersk’s investment will be used to further develop and commercialize Vertoro’s patented liquid lignin technology, and it will enable Vertoro to build a demo plant, which will become operational in 2022.
The output of this plant will be used to develop marine fuels in partnership with Maersk as well as other applications for the materials and chemicals markets. Maersk expects several fuel types to exist alongside each other in the future and has identified four potential fuel pathways to decarbonization: biodiesel, alcohols, ammonia, and lignin-enhanced alcohols. Vertoro, founded in 2017, produces liquid lignin exclusively from sustainably sourced forestry and agricultural residues by means of a patented thermochemical process. Like fossil oil, liquid lignin can be used as a platform for fuel, chemical and material applications.
