Korean Ship Owner Side –
1. “HMM, 13,000TEU 초대형 컨테이너선 발주”/“HMM orders 13,000 teu series to take fleet past the 1m slot mark”
- HMM은 대우조선해양과 현대중공업에 각각 6척씩 총 12척의 13,00TEU 초대형 컨테이너선을 발주하였습니다.
해당 발주를 통해 처음으로 HMM은 총 선복량 백만 TEU를 넘길 것으로 내다보고 있습니다. 해당 신조선들은 2024년 상반기내에 모두 인도될 예정입니다.
해당 선박은 하이브리드 스크러버 시스템과 LNG-Ready타입의 엔진이 장착됩니다.

- South Korean flagship HMM has signed newbuilding contracts with Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Hyundai Heavy Industries(HHI) for twelve 13,000 teu container vessels.
The orders will take the HMM fleet past the 1m slot mark for the first time. Under the agreement, DSME and HHI will build six vessels each, all scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2024.
All ships will be installed with hybrid scrubbers and designed to be LNG-ready.

North East Asia Ship Owner Side –
1. “Shanghai Jin Jiang, Yangfan 그룹에 1,900TEU 피던선 2척 발주”/“Shanghai Jin Jiang orders two 1,900 teu ships at Yangfan”
- Shanghai Jin Jiang Shipping은 Yangfan그룹에 1,900teu 두 척 확정 물량을 발주하였습니다. 해당 신조 계약에는 옵션 물량 2척이 포함되어져 있으며, 해당 선박은 2023년에 인도될 예정입니다.
알파라이너에 따르면, 해당 선주사는 36척의 선대를 보유하고 있으며, 글로벌 컨테이너 선사 40위에 랭크되어 있습니다.

- Shanghai Jin Jiang Shipping has ordered two firm gearless 1,900 teu ships at Yangfan Group. The deal comes with options for two more vessels. The ships will deliver in 2023.
Alphaliner data shows the intra-Asia company, which brands its liner operations as Jinjiang Shipping, has 36 ships in operation today and ranks as the world’s 40th largest carrier.

2. “Bocomm Leasing, 자국 Chengxi 조선소에 8척의 woodchip 선박 발주”/“Bocomm Leasing orders eight woodchip carriers at Chengxi Shipyard”
- Bocomm Leasing은 Woodchip 신조선 8척을 자국 CSSC 산하의 Chengxi 조선소에 발주하였다고 밝혔습니다. 해당 계약은 64,000dwt 6척 그리고 70,000dwt 2척의 선박으로 구성되어져 있습니다.
해당 선박 발주에는 자국에서 가장 큰 제지 제조회사인 Nine Dragons Paper Holdings가 해당 선박들을 장기 용선하는 것으로 알려졌습니다.
첫 호선을 2023년 6월 인도 시작으로 2024년 하반기 까지 차례대로 선주사에게 인도할 계획입니다.

- Bank of Communications Financial Leasing (Bocomm Leasing) has inked a deal for eight woodchip carriers marking the Chinese leasing house's debut in the segment and its first newbuilding contract this year.
Bocomm Leasing has contracted China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC)-controlled Chengxi Shipyard to build six geared 64,000-dwt ships and two gearless 70,000-dwt vessels.
The order was placed on the back of long-term charters to the country’s largest paper manufacturer, Nine Dragons Paper Holdings.
A Chengxi official confirmed the Bocomm Leasing contract. He said delivery of the first vessel is slated for June 2023, with the remaining newbuildings to follow by the second half of 2024.

3. “Wan Hai, 2척의 컨테이너선 일본 조선소에 발주 ”/“Wan Hai orders a pair of containers at Japanese shipyards”
- Wan Hai Lines은 상당한 양의 신조선을 발주하고 있으며, 이에 추가하여 일본 조선소에 3,055teu 컨테이너선을 추가 발주한 것으로 확인됩니다.
해당 조선소는 일본의 이마바리와 재팬 마린 유나티드 조선소의 합작 회사인 니혼 조선소에서 2023년 하반기에 동 선주사에게 인도될 예정입니다.
올해 1월 Wan Hai는 동 조선소와 3,013teu 컨테이너선 12척을 계약한 바 있으며, 올해 3월에는 현대 중공업에 13,200teu 초대형 컨테이너선 5척을 발주하였습니다.
해당 선박들이 모두 해당 선주사로 인도되면, Wan Hai는 글로벌 컨테이너 선사 10가 될 예정이며, 총 선복량은 600,000teu를 초과하게 됩니다.

- Wan Hai Lines of Taiwan is building a sizeable orderbook. The company announced it has placed an order in Japan for twelve 3,055 teu ships.
The ships will deliver from Nihon Shipyard – the joint venture between Imabari and Japan Marine United – in the second half of 2033.
In January Wan Hai had contracted the same yard to construct twelve 3,013 teu boxships,
while in March the Taiwanese carrier confirmed an order at South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries for five 13,200 teu containerships.
Once all the ships deliver, Wan Hai, the world’s 10th largest liner, will have a fleet in excess of 600,000 slots.

 

4. “Wisdom Marine, 일본 Tsuneishi 조선소에 캄사르막스 벌크선 3척 발주”/“Wisdom Marine orders kamsarmax trio at Tsuneishi”
- 대만 Wisdom Marine은 일본Tsuneishi 조선소에 3척의 캄사르막스 벌크 신조선을 발주하였다고 밝혔습니다. 해당 시조선은 지난해 발주하였었던 82,000dwt 캄사르막스 2척 이후의 신조 발주로
인도일은 아직 확정되지 않았습니다. 해당 신조 발주는 Wisdom Marine의 선대 현대화의 일환으로 확인됩니다. 동 선주사는 현재 133척의 선대를 보유하며 10척의 신조선을 일본 조선소에 발주하였습니다.

- Taiwanese bulk shipping operator Wisdom Marine has placed an order at Tsuneishi Shipbuilding for three kamsarmax bulk carriers.
The new order follows last year’s deal for 82,000 dwt kamsarmax pair, scheduled for delivery in September 2022.
Delivery details for the newbuild trio, part of Wisdom Marine’s fleet optimisation programme, were not disclosed.
The Taipei-based company currently owns a fleet of 133 vessels, and has 10 ships on order at various Japanese yards.

1 “Alfa Laval, Wallenius와 풍력 추진 선박 개발을 위해 협력”/“Alfa Laval and Wallenius to develop tech for wind-powered vessels”
- Alfa Laval은 Wallenius와 합동하여 풍력 추진 시스템을 개발 후, 5년 내로 모든 상선에 적용할 계획입니다.
현재 양사는 50:50의 지분으로 AlfaWall Oceanbird라는 합작회사를 세워 대서양을 횡단하는 7000 CEU급 자동차 선박에 해당 풍력 장치를 설치할 계획을 먼저 가지고 있습니다.
해당 풍력 장치는 평균 10노트의 속도로 움직이는 선박의 현재 에너지 효율 지수 대비하여 최대 90%까지 배기가스를 줄일 수 있을 것으로 예상하고 있습니다.
*올해 초, Wallenius Wilhelmsen사는 세계 최초로 자동차 선박에 풍력 추진 장치를 설치할 계획을 밝힌 바 있습니다.
*프랑스 Neoline 사는 2024년 상반기 시운전을 목표로 올 여름부터 풍력 추진 시스템을 일반 화물선에 설치하기 위한 작업을 착수할 예정입니다.
*프랑스 Zéphyr & Borée 사는 세계 최초로 8개의 돛을 컨테이너 선박에 적용하기 위한 작업을 진행하고 있습니다.
*자동차 타이어 제조회사인 Michelin 사 또한 해당 비즈니스 수행하고 있으며, 타 사와는 달리 크기를 줄였다 늘렸다 그리고 팽창할 수 있는 풍력 추진 시스템을 개발하고 있습니다.

- Alfa Laval, a Swedish engineering firm, is collaborating with its compatriot Wallenius Marine to develop wind propulsion technologies for cargo ships and other ship types, with the first system expected to be onboard within five years.
A 50/50 joint venture, called AlfaWall Oceanbird, initially plans to install wing sails on a transatlantic car carrier with a capacity of 7,000 units.
The solution should cut emissions by up to 90% compared to today’s most energy-efficient vessels at an average speed of 10 knots.
*Earlier this year, Wallenius Wilhelmsen announced plans to build the world’s first full-scale wind-powered roro.
*In France, Neoline is also working on a wind-powered cargo vessel, with construction set to commence this summer and commissioning targeted for the first half of 2024.
*Its French counterpart, Zéphyr & Borée, is working on what could be the world’s first sailing containership, complete with eight wing-sails.
*Tire manufacturer Michelin recently rolled out a telescopic, inflatable wing sail system.

2. “Maersk, 메탄올 추진 컨테이너 선박 최종 발주”/“Maersk signs up for world’s first container fuelled by carbon neutral methanol”
- Maersk는 마침내 자사의 첫 번째 메탄올 추진 컨테이너 선박 건조에 대한 세부사항을 밝혔습니다. 동사는 북 유럽 운항을 위해 투입할 이중 연료 추진 2,100teu 컨테이너 선박을 현대 미포 조선소에 발주하였습니다.
메탄올 추진 선박의 구성을 위해 Man Energy Solutions와 현대 힘센 엔진에서 공동 개발될 예정이며 선급은 ABS에서 진행될 예정입니다.
현재 Maersk는 1년 이후부터는 모든 신조선들은 비 화석 연료유를 사용함에 따라, LNG 추진 선박 발주에 대해 부정적인 의견을 내비치고 있습니다.

- Maersk has finally revealed details of the construction of its first methanol-fuelled boxship.
The Danish container shipping giant has signed with South Korea’s Hyundai Mipo Dockyard to build a dual-fuelled 2,100 teu ship that will trade in northern Europe.
The methanol propulsion configuration for the vessel will be developed by MAN Energy Solutions, Hyundai Engine and Machinery and Himsen.
The ship will be classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Maersk has eschewed ordering LNG-fuelled ships, saying for more than a year that all future ships would be non-fossil fuel varieties.

3. “Proman, 메탄올 추진 선박 2척 계약”/“Proman signs for two more methanol-powered newbuildings”
- Proman은 메탄올 추진MR 탱커 추가 2척에 대한 건조 계약을 마무리 했다고 밝혔습니다. 이미 동사는 6척의 메탄올 추진선박을 발주한 바 있습니다.
해당 2척은 중국 Guangzhou 조선소에서 건조되며 2023년 4분기에 선주사로 인도될 예정입니다. Proman은 전 세계에서 2 번째로 큰 메탄올 제조 회사입니다.

- Methanol champion Proman has finalised an agreement to build two additional 49,900 dwt methanol dual-fuel MR tankers, bringing its total investment in methanol-powered vessels to six newbuildings.
The new vessels will also be built at Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), for delivery in Q4 2023. Proman is the second largest global methanol producer. They transport to all major bunkering ports.
